Dear Readers!
Yet another course completed. I took this one because I wanted to have a better overview of non-local, remote technologies available for PLCs. This includes Modbus RTU, USS, Webserver capability of PLCs, GSM, and a very interesting web technology Node-Red. Even though the course was very thoroughly presenting how these various technologies work (on real hardware I might add), I found it to be a bit lacking, as I would’ve expected to see something about other common standards as well, like ASi, HART and CAN bus. Nevertheless, this was quite useful to me, especially the webserver and Node-Red part, because they could help creating remote access to PLCs if so need be.
That’s it for now, thanks for reading.
